"Our journey of life is like a rollercoaster, full of ups and downs." The phrase is a zillion years old but still, the metaphorical lines say a lot.
Today in the world of the rat race this topic is highly outdated but ain't old cause while focusing on the competition, people often forget the goal for which they were competing. The main motto of writing this blog is to make people educated by explaining the difference between our desire and happiness.
"If you earn money in more than 6 digits you are happy". the common answer you might receive from any teen or adult. it is so stuck in our mindset that even if we want to step into something new the first to stop us by stepping into it will be our mind, then our parents. you read it right, Just ask yourselves once WHY???
I did, the answer was pretty simple and I suppose it would be similar to yours...We see happiness in our desire and for that, we just do hard work to earn a minimal penny. If we had done smart work i.e seen happiness in our passion initially we won't be earning a huge stake, but at the end of the day, you are going to feel productive. And frankly speaking money matters only in how you see it. When you are passionate about your work you entrust not only your soul but also a lump sum of money to push your career and during that wise decision your passion grows slowly but helps you to rise and shine.
This wise thought came to me by seeing a live example:
He was great at cooking and dear god his cooking skill was not less than magic. Whenever he cooks food one could see a smile, a grace on his grimace. When he had a choice to pursue his work, he chose the banking field instead of a chef. The reason to choose the banking industry was in 1990 it was at its peak with a great annual package.
After 10 years, He is still working in XYZ Bank's main branch as a Manager. While observing the things I notice and would love to share is, He earns in more than 6 digits. The desire of his family can be fulfilled in a minute. Overall financially they are well settled, whereas due to overburdened work he is stressed, nagging with her better half has been increasing. He tries every day to find positivity in things but the robotic life, the chaos, the rush to fulfil his desire made him lose his happiness.
He was not feeling happy, on what he was doing with his life. It's also known as self actualization need under Maslow's theory.
so he quits his job and opens his small restaurant and now at the age of 50 he is starting from scratch but every day he wakes up with new hope, energy, a positive aura working hard to grow and by the end of the day he can feel productive. Within 2 years the word-of-mouth publicity made his restaurant one of the busiest restaurants in the city. He is stress-free, the restaurant has brought her better half closer to her, and financially speaking he is earning more than the Manager job.
The moral : Run for things in which you find happiness, not money!!
Do ask to yourself once while reading. Are you passionate about what you are doing? if yes, Then it's for you! You need to love what you do and that is when you can go get greater things at ease.
